Not to worry. I highly doubt he’s gonna be in it much at all. And what few scenes he’ll have will most likely be uploaded to YouTube within a week or so of its premiere date. I’m just going to watch those.

I guess it's of good omen [for him] that Dolph spends so much time filming. His part must be important.
But let's remember the last time he shot a TV series in South Africa

And if I'm not mistaken we're still not clear whether it's for a new season of the series or a feature-length spin-off.

Not much filtered out on this but I assume it should be available in the spring or summer... Will be interesting to see Dolph in that fantasy environment...

The people in charge of Witcher at Netflix have just absolutely done a terrible job a stewarding the show. I have little to no hope this will be any good so hopefully Dolph doesn't have a huge part in it.

The source material had/has Game of Thrones potential and the showrunners just butchered it in season 1 on Netflix... season 2 isn't even worth mentioning it was so bad. Then they did a spin off movie that was even worse than what season 2 offered up.

Hopefully Dolph puts in a good performance given what he has to work with because that's going to be the only redeeming value I can see from this thing.

While season 4 just wrapped filming, there is still no information on what's to become this spin-off...

‘The Rats: A Witcher Tale’ May Be Released As A Special Episode
https://redanianintelligence.com/2024/0 ... l-episode/
By Gravemaster on July 4, 2024

The long mysterious journey of The Witcher‘s Rats prequel continues as Season 4 is filming. Today we have an update on The Rats, including a title and possible intended format, albeit without the definitive fate of the project.

The Rats to become a special episode titled The Rats: A Witcher Tale?

First things first, the title. We’ve learned that The Rats: A Witcher Tale is the title for the Rats spinoff, if it ends up being released as a standalone. It is a prequel story about The Rats before they met Ciri.

As a reminder, the project began its life as a limited series with Witcher writer Haily Hall as showrunner. It was cut short and filmed for around two months from late April to early July 2023. We heard Netflix didn’t like it very much and further filming didn’t continue.

Last we had an update on The Rats, we heard that Netflix was considering either integrating the filmed footage into The Witcher Season 4, or releasing it as a film or some kind of special episode. We still don’t know what the final decision will be, but we have Mairzee Almas, the director herself, listing The Rats as a special episode on her own Linkedin page.

On the other hand we have The Witcher‘s casting director speaking about a special episode within Season 4 last year, which supports what we were told recently as well:

“I had a really lovely opportunity recently with a very special — almost standalone — episode of season four of The Witcher, which is exploring a completely new group of people. We found a boy called Connor Crawford and we were able to put him in this group of kids in The Witcher. The whole group is very exciting in terms of talent: Christelle Elwin, Juliette Alexandra, Ben Radcliffe. You meet the characters in season three and then they come into their own in season four.“

The choice between the two options is likely a matter of time and patience. Realistically, Netflix would need the majority of Season 4 footage filmed to be able review it and decide whether or not they can fit The Rats flashbacks on top of that. Right now, in the middle of the Season 4 production, they are unlikely to have that final decision, only plans and intentions.

If they decide to release The Rats as a special episode, perhaps it could be dropped close to Season 4, or even in the middle of it. It could fit quite well as a “light snack” between Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 of The Witcher Season 4.

In any case, The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is still looking like the final full spinoff in the Netflix Witcher universe releasing this year.

Anything 'big' that Dolph is a part of ends up being cut or cancelled. I've lost count now. Really a shame.

It happened quite a few times, but if we look at the positive, it didn't for EXPENDABLES 1, AQUAMAN or CREED II...
