Apparently, Plaion (ex-Koch Media) in Germany will release the unrated cut (as in a few seconds longer than the R-rated) in September...

8 different versions - how is that possible?
In the Warner Master, an iconic scene was zoomed in heavily because equipment was visible in the picture. Eight different versions were put on the discs using seamless branching.

Seamless branching is a process that makes it possible to place several edited versions of a film on a DVD or Blu-ray disc in a space-saving manner. Not all versions are individually on the disc in their entirety, but rather the main part common to all of these versions and the scenes that differ from each other. During playback, the playback device switches seamlessly within these "branched" data paths and merges them "seamlessly" into the selected cut version.

What they call the "zoomed" scene is the shot of Dolph jump-kicking above the yakuza car...

Having only ever seen the UK BBFC cut version, I'm enamoured with just having a full R one. I've not heard too much about this version, the Blu Ray dot com thread is a mess of complaining about crops, but does this really warrant eight cuts? And are any of the transfers as good as the Warner Archive version?

Calling it "8" cuts is misleading really, when overall it's only 2 cuts in 2 transfer versions. And let's say you'd only count "uncut" and without he crop of the jump above the car then you only have the two masters to choose from...

One is the Warner Archive, and the other version is from another master that is slightly different but not too much (but they kept the original Warner logo)...

I've literally just finally got the Archive version (finally came down to acceptable price for a MOD cheapie, it's probably a pain to search out the German edition for a decent amount.
